For an author, a book launch is always an exciting moment. How much more when it’s your debut book! Tracy Crump’s debut book of devotions launches today (1st June). So I’m thrilled to be able to introduce you to the author. This may be her first book, but as the saying goes, “It’s not her first rodeo!” She is well-published as a devotional writer, with a number of Chicken Soup anthologies on her resume.
I belonged to Tracy’s critique group for some years and grew a tremendous amount as a writer as a result of the experience. We have become firm cyber friends through the process, and I was delighted when she invited me to join her launch team. So come along and meet Tracy. read more
Last Friday of January!
And we’ve reached the last Friday of the first month of the year! How crazy is that? It’s surreal how the days are galloping past. I wonder if, at the end of this year, we’ll make the same comments as we did at the end of 2020. “This year seemed to last for years!” So it’s time for another interview.
Seeing we’re looking at one of my books this week, I’ve asked a friend and writing colleague to conduct an interview with me. Anna Jensen and I both have two books in the boxed set, In All Things. So thank you Anna. Over to you, as we look at my second book in the set, Peace in Life’s Storms! read more
And it’s Friday again!
I thought time was supposed to be going slowly. Yet it seems to be speeding by as if someone has his foot stuck on the accelerator of his new Ferrari. It’s time once again for another interview with one of the South African authors involved in the boxed set, In All Things.
Today it’s my pleasure to introduce you (or re-introduce you) to popular Christian Romance writer, Marion Ueckermann, who took a break from her romance writing to share some devotional insights in her book, Reflections from the Ocean (and Surrounds).
Can you believe it’s Friday again!
Time to meet up with one of our eleven authors once more. Together we have brought out a 13-book boxed set of devotional writings, with each book covering seven days of devotions, and based in Africa.
Every one of these books has a totally different theme, each chosen by the authors, and yet wow! They all gel together so beautifully.
Today, we’re chatting to Yvonne Tippins, author of Life is Good.
Yvonne lives in Vereeneging with her husband Mark. They have a daughter, Laura, who is also a writer.
Updated since the launch party!
Last post I shared with you how ten authors of Christian Writers of Southern Africa, (CWOSA), took up my challenge to create a boxed set of 13 devotional books. Here’s some news about our amazing launch!
I now have very exciting news to share! ‘In All Things – 13 devotions from Africa’ reached #1 on Amazon in the New Releases: Spiritual Devotions category. What an exciting moment to see our boxed set boasting its little orange ribbon.
Challenges, both good and bad, of lockdown
I’m sure you all could list many examples of the challenges of lockdown. I think this is one of the first times in living memory where the world has been united!
Every country seems to also be facing other challenges, like race riots, demonstrations, acts of violence, looting, and crimes against women and children. Some countries have started to recover, only to be slammed by a second wave of COVID-19 as their level of precautions eases.
About The Boat that Saved Mankind
God tells you He is going to put an end to the human race. Then you learn you are one of only eight people He plans to save.
It gets worse. He wants you to build a boat to start over. How crazy is that? Does He even know how old you are?
Will you obey? Read about the one man who did.
Story of The Boat that Saved . . .
Chapter 1 is “Life in Noah’s Day” and includes some fascinating information I didn’t know until I researched the topic.
The final chapter tells of “A New Earth” and really makes you think what a daunting task the Noah family faced as they stepped off that stuffy ark.
What was the first thing they did?
And what is the first thing you do when you face overwhelming circumstances?
I really enjoyed writing this book. Then I faced the task of looking for suitable pictures to illustrate the story. I was delighted to find ideal images and I know my readers will love them too.
