Slippery Sand

The coastal road between Somerset West and Muizenberg in the Cape curves between high sand-dunes before it reaches the sea. Regular drivers on this road know to take care. When the famous Cape South-Easterly wind blows, it showers sand from the dunes across the road, sometimes obliterating markings and even parts of the road.

Often life blows unexpected hazards across our path. Even when we think we know what we’re doing, we need to beware of the unexpected. As we move through life, let’s pray for wisdom as we face the unexpected that are hidden from view.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to keep alert. When things don’t go the way I expect, help me to trust you. Amen.

Isaiah 40:3-5 (CEV) Someone is shouting: “Clear a path in the desert! Make a straight road for the LORD our God. Fill in the valleys; flatten every hill and mountain. Level the rough and rugged ground. Then the glory of the LORD will appear for all to see. The LORD has promised this!”
